Abstract

The issue of gender inequalities that discriminate against women in Saudi Arabia can first be studied by examining various statistics. Their analysis is informed by a comparison with several countries. The study then highlights the discrimination suffered by Saudi women due to the failure to respect the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Do other international texts adopted by Saudi Arabia make them possible ? Nevertheless, the country's leaders have taken various decisions to reduce gender inequalities. Do they signify a structural change or are they only intended to reassure the international community?
