Abstract

Since the upheaval in its policy, initiated by Beijing in 1979, China, as Alain Peyrefitte announced, has woken up. And everything has happened, since the beginning of the 21st century, as if a "sinomania" was unfolding. But is the Chinese model unsustainable, particularly in view of its demographic parameters ? To illustrate the answer to this question, thirteen figures and two tables highlight the singularity of China's demographic dynamics and future.
