Les panels consommateurs scannerisés

Abstract

Les données de panels de consommateurs étaient, jusqu'au début des années 1990, collectées en majorité au travers de relevés d'achat papier remplis par les panélistes et transmis aux sociétés de panels pour saisie, traitement et exploitation des résultats. Ce procédé de collecte des données est remplacé progressivement par une collecte utilisant la lecture optique des codes-barres, collecte pouvant s'effectuer au foyer des panélistes ("in-home scanning") ou dans les magasins fréquentés par les panélistes ("retail scanning"). L'objet de cet article est de présenter l'état des méthodes de collecte de données de panels consommateurs au niveau international, de discuter des avantages et inconvénients des différents systèmes et de montrer les avancées que présente la lecture optique. Les exemples de résultats sont extraits du panel scannérisé CONSOSCAN de chez SECODIP en France.
