Comparaison de deux méthodes de typologie : Le cas des voitures diesel

Abstract

L'objectif de cet article est d'appliquer, sur un fichier de voitures diesel, deux techniques de classification: une classification ascendante hiérarchique et une typologie floue. Le marché automobile français est réparti en cinq catégories: les citadines, les compactes, les routières, les grandes routières et les monospaces, breaks. Notre but est de retrouver ces cinq classes à partir des caractéristiques techniques des véhicules. Nous montrons que la typologie floue permet de mieux les faire ressortir par rapport à une typologie classique. Elle identifie non seulement les voitures qui appartiennent à plusieurs classes, mais facilite la compréhension des différents groupes constitués.
