Modalités et processus d’internationalisation des PMI sous-traitantes françaises

Abstract

L'objectif de cet article est de comprendre comment s'internationalisent les PMI sous-traitantes. La spécificité du comportement de ces entreprises à l'international provient de la nature de la relation de sous-traitance industrielle. Les principales approches théoriques de l'internationalisation des PME excluent cette spécificité et, par conséquent, n'offrent pas de grilles d'analyse satisfaisantes. Dans ces conditions, il devient légitime de mener une étude empirique de nature exploratoire. Celle-ci fournit une typologie des PMI sous-traitantes observées en fonction des modalités d'exportation qu'elles empruntent pour se développer à l'international. En outre, elle souligne l'ambivalence du rôle joué par le réseau des donneurs d'ordres.
