Abstract

Ce livre blanc, issu d'un travail collectif et prospectif initié en 2019 lors des Grenoble Interdisciplinary Days, présente le potentiel de la recherche interdisciplinaire au sein de la communauté scientifique grenobloise sur l'un des défis de l'IDEX "Planète et société durables". Ce défi, étudié à travers le prisme des "Transitions et questions d'échelles", laisse entrevoir des questions de recherche émergentes autour de quatre thématiques : circularité, équité et justice, habitabilité et vulnérabilité. Cet ouvrage est aussi et surtout l'occasion de questionner les relations entre l'université et la société. En effet, l'urgence climatique, les difficultés sociales et politiques, mais aussi l'émergence de tensions et de radicalités imposent de repenser la place des universitaires : experts et acteurs du débat public, ils défendent non seulement la science et les valeurs académiques, mais également l'utilité sociale, culturelle et économique de l'université. La richesse et la pertinence des questionnements face aux enjeux contemporains, l'originalité des contributions de la communauté scientifique grenobloise sont les points forts de cet ouvrage.
