Le temps de travail des ingénieur.e.s : genre et normes de disponibilité temporelle en France et en Finlande

Abstract

En France, l'introduction en 2000 du dispositif des forfaits jours correspond à un allongement des semaines de travail des cadres et ingénieurs, qui se distinguaient déjà des autres catégories de travailleurs par de longues durées de travail. En Finlande, le temps de travail est au contraire toujours décompté en heures et la durée des semaines habituelles de travail des ingénieurs se situe dans la moyenne de celle de l'ensemble des salariés. À partir d'une enquête par entretiens menée dans les deux pays entre 2011 et 2014 (Bigi, 2019) et de l'enquête sur les forces de travail 2013 (Eurostat), ce numéro de Connaissance de l'emploi rend compte des écarts entre les semaines habituelles de travail des ingénieurs des deux pays, mais également entre femmes et hommes. En Finlande, l'existence d'une norme de disponibilité à la fois limitée et évolutive permet de s'adapter aux contraintes familiales et favorise l'égalité professionnelle, au contraire de la disponibilité extensive qui est attendue en France.
