Abstract

En 2008, la crise des subprimes en affectant l'économie mondialisée et la sphère financière a suscité la publication de nombreux travaux sur les pays émergents, et particulièrement sur la Chine. À partir de cette date, les revues ont multiplié les dossiers thématiques sur les effets de cette crise dans des pays dont l'"émergence" était susceptible d'être remise en cause, et des blogs spécialisés ont été créés par les grandes universités. Dans ce contexte, cette introduction s'intéresse aux questionnements foisonnant autour de ce concept : comment identifier l'émergence ? ; quels pays/États/marchés/puissances relèvent-ils (elles) de cette (ces) nouvelle(s) catégorie(s) ? ; quelle résonnance avec les nouveaux pays industrialisés ? quel(s) champ(s) de l'économie ou d'autres disciplines pour analyser, rendre intelligible, ce processus d'émergence ?
