Abstract

Après l'échec de trois candidatures, Paris a enfin obtenu, le 13 septembre 2017, l'organisation des Jeux Olympiques d'été de 2024. Depuis un demi-siècle, l'accueil des grands événements sportifs est devenu un instrument de communication politique majeur pour l'image d'un pays. Ces grands événements sportifs internationaux constituent un sujet d'étude complexe dont l'analyse est indispensable. La problématique des impacts économiques, sociaux, environnementaux et de l'héritage de ces événements sportifs majeurs questionne l'ensemble des décideurs, financeurs et organisateurs de ces manifestations. Cet ouvrage se propose, dans une première partie, de faire un bilan des retombées d'un certain nombre de Jeux Olympiques. La seconde partie de l'ouvrage se veut plus prospective dans l'optique des Jeux de Paris 2024.
