Abstract

This paper shows that, representing a sort of insurance against risk, the resilience rhetoric formulated by United Nations discourses to promote disaster risk reduction (DRR) and sustainable development has a dimension that is both positive and prescriptive, which has influenced its diffusion within the field of international aid while reforming its principles, architecture, and financing processes.
