Abstract

If the support of entrepreneurs is a research topic constantly growing, there is few works available on the support of company buyers. This article focuses on the specific needs of entrepreneurs who are buying existing businesses and on the way they could be effectively assisted. Based on a test project conducted at a European level on a sample of 889 business transfers, the authors confirm empirically the relevance of a particular form of support: external tutoring. They also show in what kind of situations and for what type of buyers tutoring is most beneficial.
