Abstract

[News regularly raises economic concerns that the surprise effect is due to a misunderstanding of the population: they suddenly surprised by the cost of pensions, predictable long time; we seem to discover the decline coming in the workforce; there are concerns about school closures affecting the economic dynamics of rural areas; we find declining flow of students entering higher education... These few examples show that economic science has not been able to focus on the economic consequences of population trends.]
