Abstract

An increasing number of researches are carried out on public measurements, this paper deals with self-quantification of online players communities. The online game company frequently publishes an overestimated increase of players' numbers. Some players criticize those measurements and promote alternative accounts stimulating other collective representations. Nevertheless, the reliability of their sources is highly uncertain. This paper discusses those alternatives and unreliable public measurements.
