Abstract

Work overload, unmet goals and too short achievement deadlines such as the hierarchy or the customers' pressure, may lead employees to a depressive state. This state constitutes a risk for the employee, for his family circle and for the company which has hired him. A compromised health, a decreasing energy and a lack of focus may combine often with a low consideration, a lack of trust and cooperation and sensations of well-being and discontent. An insufficient participatory commitment from the employees is part of the psycho-social risk indicators (PSR) not taken into account in the essentially quantitative classical HR scoreboards. Implementing a qualitative and participative assessment which gives a member of staff the action initiative allows reducing the psychosocial risk, driver of costs and decreased results. Those are the findings coming from an action research survey conducted with a hundred call centers' workers during two years.
