Abstract

Cette communication propose d'étudier le processus d'assistance météorologique effectué en 2012 sur la voie nord de l'Everest dans une perspective dite « de la pratique » (« knowing-in-practice »). A la différence de la télémédecine qui opère en contexte contrôlé, l'assistance concerne un contexte naturel évolutif à hauts risques. Ce cas unique et extrême (au sens de Yin) est construit à partir d'une méthode ethnographique qualifiée de « multi-sited ». La recherche montre que l'« expertise-en-pratique » se construit par des interactions à la fois discursives et matérielles qui reposent certes sur des connaissances expertes mais aussi sur des compétences indépendantes de la dimension strictement technique de l'expertise individuelle. Elle est le fruit fragile d'un travail de co-apprentissage mutuel qui requiert un temps dépassant de beaucoup celui d'une seule expédition
