Abstract

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) has been one of the Central Banks that has reacted the most since the beginning of the 2007 crisis. It has in particular implemented a "floor" for the Swiss franc/euro exchange rate. It has entailed strong advantages to the Swiss economy thanks to the end of the appreciation as well as the reflation induced. Such a policy shows to what extent the SNB is able to set up efficient and pragmatic monetary policies. Nevertheless, this cannot be seen as a major change in the Swiss monetary policies, because "the music will stop" soon.
