Autour d'Agency. Un nouveau paradigme pour les recherches de genre

Abstract

À la lumière des textes des jeunes chercheurs qui s'inscrivent dans les travaux du séminaire GeFeM, agency se présente comme un nouveau paradigme capable d'enrichir les recherches de genre. Avancée depuis les années 1990 par Judith Butler, la notion est explorée dans cette introduction sous trois angles : son univers sémantique, de la performativité à la conscience d'agir d'un sujet ; son contexte philosophique et politique ; les apports des développements de cette pensée aux disciplines des sciences sociales. Selon les approches de leurs différents objets, les textes soulignent la valeur heuristique du paradigme agency. Ils montrent aussi les difficultés de sa mise en œuvre. Dans le champ de la démarche scientifique, cette féconde notion paradigmatique bouscule nos approches, piège nos présupposés et nous invite à la vigilance épistémologique.
