Crisis de la deuda e instituciones del Welfare State: alternativas en juego

Abstract

El propósito de esta intervención es mostrar que en las luchas que se desarrollan en torno de la crisis de la deuda y contra las políticas de austeridad efectuadas en su nombre están en juego las instituciones del Estado de Bienestar o Welfare State (WS). En este planteamiento, articularé mi intervención en dos partes. En la primera, me propongo caracterizar algunos elementos a menudo ocultos que contribuyen a explicar al mismo tiempo la naturaleza de la crisis actual del capitalismo y lo que está centralmente en juego, que son las políticas de expropiación de las instituciones del WS. En la segunda parte, destacaré la manera cómo, en torno del lugar central de las instituciones del WS, la crisis hace surgir la alternativa entre dos modelos antagónicos de sociedad y de regulación de una economía basada sobre el saber y su difusión.
