Abstract

When trajectories are to be studied and features of theories to be identified in macroéconomics, Kuhn's paradigm and Lakatos' research programs are often invoked as primary grounds for analysis. However, both analyses appear to be irrelevant after careful examination : they do not provide a framework capable of specifying the structure and stakes of macroeconomic theories, not do thy define kinships and gaps that shape their overall structure. By contrast, M. Bunge's category plan contains lines of interrogation that are more likely to define, by contrasting them, the real approach connected to macroeconomics with market's equilibrium in perfect or imperfect competition on the one hand, and the monetary approach that grounds the principles of effective demand based on an entrepreneurs / employees asymmetry on the other hand.
