Abstract

Ces dix dernières années, le concept d'improvisation et son opérationnalisation dans les organisations a suscité un engouement de plus en plus important dans la communauté de recherche et chez les praticiens. L'improvisation dans les organisations se situe à la croisée de nombreux champs de recherche, elle apparait souvent comme inhérente à la réponse à une crise. Nous pensons que l'improvisation ne relève pas uniquement d'une capacité de réponse rapide à une crise imprévue mais qu'elle constitue un marqueur de la flexibilité d'une organisation et qu'elle donne l'impulsion à des changements stratégiques organisationnels majeurs. Afin d'approfondir la compréhension du phénomène d'improvisation en organisation, nous avons étudié le comportement des dirigeants des entreprises françaises implantées au Japon et confrontés au séisme du 11 mars 2011.
