Abstract

Toute société doit se préoccuper de la répartition des ressources entre les âges et les générations et, plus précisément, du financement et de la satisfaction des besoins associés aux deux périodes de dépendance économique : formation des plus jeunes et retraite des plus âgés. On confronte les réponses apportées par trois logiques sociales qui inspirent les modèles sociaux européens. Elles se différencient par les poids relatifs accordés aux trois piliers pourvoyeurs de bien-être : marché, famille et État, et s'opposent notamment sur les vices ou les vertus prêtés aux solidarités familiales entre générations.
