Abstract

Les autorités de concurrence sont généralement préoccupées par la diminution du nombre d'enchérisseurs qu'engendre une opération de concentration sur un marché par appels d'offres. La théorie économique démontre pourtant qu'il existe des situations dans lesquelles la diminution du nombre de candidats conduit à une issue plus concurrentielle du processus d'appels d'offres. Cet article présente ces résultats théoriques et leur validation empirique, avant de s'interroger sur la possibilité d'en tenir compte lors de l'examen de fusions sur des marchés d'appels d'offres.
