Abstract

Cet article interroge la responsabilité du chercheur en sciences de gestion à travers l'exemple du rôle de la recherche en finance dans la crise financière de 2007. Les chercheurs en finance ont fourni des outils permettant de développer les sources de financement de l'activité économique. Ces développements ont rendu possible une situation de surpâturage, c'est-à-dire une surexploitation des ressources conduisant, in fine, à une dégradation du milieu dans son ensemble, en l'occurrence la crise financière. L'article montre également comment l'environnement institutionnel du chercheur en finance influence l'orientation des travaux favorisant, ainsi, plus ou moins une situation de surpâturage.
