Abstract

The object of the paper is an attempt to develop new indicators for the measurement of work organization. In a nutshell, the aim of our research is to build workable knowledge. Our research will be drawn up from the variables of Karasek and Theorell (1990). We will start by testing the internal consistency and the construct validity of the Karasek and Theorell variables by basing our analysis on a sample of 25000 individuals of the French national Sumer survey. While carrying out a principal components analysis with Varimax rotation, we did not find the three dimensions of Karasek and Theorell. We propose to create new quantitative and qualitative indicators for the measurement of work organization.
