Un conseil municipal confronté aux évolutions du monde rural : Sainte Eulalie de Cernon (1900-1950)

Abstract

A partir du dépouillement, de 1900 à 1950, des délibérations du Conseil municipal d'un village du Sud Aveyron, Sainte Eulalie de Cernon, ont été identifiées les préoccupations principales des élus municipaux. A travers leurs décisions de gestion courante de la vie villageoise, et au delà des spécificités de ce village, apparaissent les traits principaux de l'évolution d'ensemble du monde rural aveyronnais et français au cours de la première moitié du XXème siècle : exode rural, rôle dominant de l'agriculture, importance des transports, développement des services publics, modalités de prise en charge de l'aide sociale. De plus, certaines délibérations se font l'écho des grands évènements nationaux, montrant ainsi la sensibilité à ceux-ci des élus locaux.
