Hypocrisie, déraison: les nouveaux leviers du contrôle ?

Abstract

Le contrôle de gestion est généralement considéré comme un outil de rationalité au sein des organisations, que celle-ci soit substantive dans les approches traditionnelles, ou davantage procédurale dans les approches récentes du contrôle. Cette recherche, basée sur une étude de cas, met en évidence des pratiques de contrôle qui contrairement aux postulats de rationalité, utilisent l'ambiguïté et l'incohérence comme moyens d'améliorer la réalisation des objectifs de l'entreprise. Ces pratiques qui peuvent être interprétées comme des applications des «technologies de la déraison prônées par March, sont découplées des discours officiels de l'entreprise afin de masquer leur contradiction avec les mythes dominants de rationalité. De façon assez inattendue, l'ambiguïté et l'incohérence apparaissent ainsi être des leviers de contrôle au sens de Simons.
