Abstract

Comme en témoignent les controverses sur la portée des engagements RSE (Responsabilité Sociale des Entreprises), sur la définition même de la "responsabilité" d'une entreprise, et dans le même temps les efforts pour définir cette qualité, pour l'intégrer au niveau opérationnel, pour l'évaluer, pour en rendre compte, etc., conclure dès à présent à charge ou à décharge semble prématuré. Comment analyser le processus en cours, de construction d'une norme de qualité sociale ou environnementale qui, bien qu'il ne soit pas parvenu encore à instituer un standard de marché, produit déjà des effets microéconomiques visibles dans l'ordre du management et de la gouvernance d'entreprise ? Ce texte propose une grille d'analyse de la RSE conceptualisée comme un champ social, et en infère la nécessité d'une intervention publique.
