Abstract

Le développement durable représente, aux yeux de la communauté internationale, un enjeu fort comme alternative au développement actuel, basé sur la seule dimension économique.Sous la pression conjuguée des investisseurs, des actionnaires, des consommateurs, des groupes d'opinion et parfois des collectivités territoriales ou gouvernements, l'entreprise doit répondre de sa responsabilité sociale, c'est-à-dire que non seulement elle doit se soucier de sa rentabilité et de sa croissance mais aussi de ses impacts environnementaux et sociaux. Par ailleurs, la territorialisation du développement durable concerne l'ensemble des entreprises (quelle que soit leur activité et leur taille) mais aussi tous les autres acteurs sur un territoire donné (experts, administration et collectivités territoriales, associations, citoyens...). Il s'ensuit toute une série de questionnements sur la mesure de la performance globale de l'entreprise, sur les exigences en matière de collecte, suivi et sécurité des données, sur les moyens de sensibilisation et d'incitation des entreprises, de compromis entre des acteurs aux logiques d'action différentes dans le champ du développement durable, sur la mesure de la durabilité des territoires, sur la place à donner à la population et aux associations dans la construction des différents outils.
