Abstract

Entrepreneurship education in the French higher education is still a new phenomenon. However, it has considerably developed during the last years in different higher education institutions. During this process different partners have developed different forms of education for entrepreneurship. First the aim was to aware students to the entrepreneurial spirit, and then also to train them in venture creation in both degree and continue education. This article first introduces the French economic and political context for entrepreneurship. Then, it presents the French higher education system as a context for entrepreneurial education in order to point out the place and role of the universities in the current phase of the reforming process. Then the article presents how to approach entrepreneurship and how different universities in France implement entrepreneurship education in these contexts. This panorama will allow drawing some conclusions and outlining recommendations for the future.
