Abstract

Le commerce international figure parmi les premiers thèmes étudiés par les économistes. Présenté par les mercantilistes comme un jeu " à somme nulle ", il a ensuite été analysé comme un jeu " à somme positive ", dans lequel chaque co-échangiste peut être gagnant. Les théories traditionnelles fondent le gain mutuel au commerce extérieur sur l'intérêt à échanger des différences, que celles-ci se traduisent en termes de productivité, de savoir-faire, d'innovation ou encore de dotations relatives en facteurs de production. Jean-Louis Mucchielli montre que si le développement important des flux intra-industriels a poussé les économistes à prendre en compte de nouveaux déterminants à l'échange, cette observation empirique ne remet pas en question la pertinence des théories traditionnelles.
