Abstract

Le travail domestique est-il, par rapport au travail professionnel, un résidu, c'est-à-dire ce qui reste, qui est sans valeur, au rebut ?L'objectif est d'analyser comment le travail domestique a évolué, dans ses rapports au professionnel, à la fois en termes de contenu et d'appréciation. En effet, il y a une histoire du travail domestique, comme il y a une histoire du travail professionnel, même si les deux sont indissolublement liés. Depuis une soixantaine d'années, cette histoire s'est déroulée en trois phases principales, en relation avec le développement économique et social de nos sociétés. Ces « trois âges des relations entre le travail professionnel et le travail domestique » illustrent un mouvement général d'extériorisation du domestique de la sphère privée de la famille, vers la sphère publique de l'économie des services.
