Abstract

Ce chapitre se propose d'introduire une nouvelle variable individuelle de description du visiteur d'un lieu culturel : son accompagnement, défini par la présence, l'identité et le nombre de ses compagnons de visite (conjoint, amis, famille). L'importance potentielle de cette variable est soulignée à travers le cas du visiteur occasionnel du musée du Louvre, qui trouve dans la présence de compagnons à ses côtés une source d'enrichissement, de récréation et de réassurance qui lui permet de compenser le sentiment de malaise souvent associé à la visite du musée. Des implications pour la politique de publics du musée en sont tirées.
