Abstract

Unlike previous studies in the literature of the determinants of renewable energy consumption, which consider one or some of these determinants separately. This study aims to provide a more global overview of the determinants of renewable energy consumption by taking them into consideration simultaneously, to be able to compare their impact and rank them according to their importance. The considered potential determinants are the financial development, social development, CO 2 emissions, institutional circumstances, economic growth, and trade openness.
