Vendre son âme au diable : la perte de légitimité d’un programme d’accompagnement

Abstract

De récents travaux scientifiques appellent à une étude approfondie des processus de construction de la légitimité. Notre recherche propose de combler ce gap en se focalisant sur les structures d'accompagnement. Ces organisations font aujourd'hui face à un environnement changeant qui les pousse à développer ou renforcer leur légitimité. L'objectif est d'attirer des entrepreneurs et des financements publics ou privés. Une étude de cas réalisée auprès d'une structure d'accompagnement du sud de la France permet d'étudier le processus de légitimation d'un programme d'accompagnement. Les résultats de cette recherche révèlent plusieurs phases où gains de légitimité, fondés sur la mobilisation de mécanismes de légitimation identitaire, associatif et organisationnel, et pertes de légitimité se côtoient. La perte de légitimité qui a raison de ce programme est fondée sur une tension entre attentes des audiences et résultats de l'accompagnement. Cet échec souligne l'importance d'un positionnement clair des structures d'accompagnement, entre similarité et différenciation.
