Abstract

Résumé Le Crédit Lyonnais a dominé le marché bancaire français jusqu'à la Grande Guerre avant que cette hégémonie ne soit contestée par ses concurrents immédiats après celle-ci. L'un des motifs de son succès résida dans sa capacité à doter son organisation d'un système rigoureux d'analyse des risques « ordinaires ». Cet article montre comment la comptabilité et plus largement l'ensemble des informations de nature comptable ont soutenu la banque dans son développement.
