Abstract

In 2020, 390,000 farms produced 98% of French agricultural output. What's the income of the 500,000 farmers who run them, alone or with others? The various available sources agree on the interannual variability and the great dispersion of income from farming. The existence of income from a non farm activity or from assets (land for example) provides an appreciable minimum, especially in the case of low or negative agricultural income.
