Abstract

This article presents a systematic review on the evolution of logistics and supply chain management and analyzes the transition from logistics to supply chain management with the resulting challenges for those who must plan and control logistics/supply operations. The key events that gave rise to enterprise logistics are noted, the perspectives of researchers in the field are identified, evaluated and compared to serve as a basis for how logistics/supply chain management is perceived today. The conclusions and projections are based on our interpretation of articles on logistics and supply chain management that have appeared in recent years.
