Abstract

L'objectif de cet article est d'expliquer pourquoi l'action collective des entreprises passe, dans un secteur en cours de structuration, par une pluralité de dispositifs organisationnels. Ceux-ci sont principalement étudiés, sur le plan théorique, comme des méta-organisations, et sur le plan empirique, en tant qu'associations professionnelles (trade associations) ou syndicats professionnels (professional associations). S'appuyant sur une étude de cas du secteur de l'agro-alimentaire biologique, qui en révèle la complexité du paysage institutionnel, on montre que cela tient notamment à la coexistence, dans le cas de l'agriculture biologique, de deux logiques (sectorielle et professionnelle) et deux modes de régulation, publique et privée, au sein d'un même secteur, ce qui en accroît la complexité. Sur le plan théorique, cet article contribue ainsi à faire discuter théories sur l'action collective organisée, par exemple en méta-organisations, et théories des professions, pour expliquer la pluralité d'organisations d'action collective d'entreprises au sein d'un secteur en transition.
