Abstract

L'acronyme GAFAM a connu un succès inédit dans le débat public français. Comment comprendre ce succès ? Pourquoi un amalgame de plateformes numériques américaines aux modèles d'affaires si différents s'est-il imposé ? De quoi est-il la manifestation ? En incarnant la transformation numérique de la société, les GAFAM constituent un bouc émissaire qui empêche la compréhension des profondes transformations de cette révolution invisible. La dénonciation obsessionnelle de ces acteurs par les responsables politiques français permet d'éviter un débat plus complexe sur leur rôle dans la stratégie de puissance des États-Unis.
