Le rôle de la peur dans l'intention d'utiliser un outil de quantification de soi

Abstract

Les études académiques qui ont examiné la quantification de soi (QS) et la santé numérique s'attardent avant tout sur les aspects techniques au détriment de variables psychologiques en lien avec la perception de sa santé. Cet article mobilise la Théorie de la Motivation protectrice qui inclut un ensemble de variables psychologiques afin de faire ressortir l'importance de la peur. Nous proposons une approche expérimentale ayant pour objectif de faire varier le sentiment de crainte suite au visionnage d'une vidéo promotionnelle sur l'intérêt des bracelets connectés afin de tester l'impact de la peur sur l'intention d'adopter la QS. Au total, 173 individus ont participé à l'étude en répondant à un questionnaire en ligne. Nos résultats démontrent que la peur joue effectivement un rôle dans la décision d'adopter la quantification de soi.
