La sage-femme libérale : activité et compétences non cliniques

Abstract

En partant du constat du développement de la profession de sage-femme libérale, les auteurs s'interrogent sur l'impact de cette évolution sur le métier et ses compétences, et par là-même sur la formation en école qui prépare à cette profession. Ils proposent d'explorer à partir d'entretiens qualitatifs l'activité de cinq sage-femmes libérales. Ils identifient grâce à cela un ensemble de compétences non-cliniques indispensables à la conduite de cette profession en dehors du milieu hospitalier, et interrogent de ce fait la non-prise en compte de ces compétences dans la formation actuelle. Ils soulignent alors les enjeux auxquels répondrait la prise en charge de ces compétences, mais aussi certaines questions que cela soulève pour la profession.
