Abstract
La décision d'investissement essentielle à la survie d'une firme est la plus importante des décisions financières créatrices de valeur. Le premier chapitre propose une argumentation justifiant le concept de free cash flow pour la firme (investissement initial, cash flow net, valeur résiduelle). La première partie de l'ouvrage dans un cadre déterministe présente les différents critères de choix d'investissement : VAN, TIR, indice de profitabilité, renouvellement à l'identique, délai de récupération et economic value added. La hiérarchie VAN vs. TIR critique ce dernier critère et assume la suprématie de la VAN, puis un développement avec la VANG et le TIRG permet d'obtenir un choix toujours optimal grâce à I0Max et nMax. Après quelques rappels sur les variables aléatoires et les moments mathématiques, la deuxième partie définit notamment les critères de Wald et de Savage puis développe l'arbre séquentiel de décision, représentation graphique d'une option réelle via le logiciel Precision Tree, et différentes approches de la méthode hiérarchique multicritère de Saaty sont proposées. Après une introduction au financement des investissements présentant l'autofinancement, l'augmentation de capital et l'endettement bancaire à long terme, la troisième partie développe le coût moyen pondéré du capital via le Medaf en utilisant la banque de données Infront Analytics. De nombreuses illustrations, à partir d'Excel ou de Stata, ainsi que des applications corrigées permettent l'assimilation des connaissances tout comme le site compagnon composé de plus de vingt liens.Ce livre s'adresse aux étudiants des filières de sciences de gestion et de sciences économiques (licence et master, écoles de commerce...) ainsi qu'aux professionnels de la finance.
