Abstract

In an even more competitive environment, and taking into account the current Moroccan economic situation and the implemented development strategies, henceforth it is inevitable for the country to have a competitive and dynamic International Road Freight Transport (TIRM) activity, as well as organized and efficient transporters, capable of meeting competiveness challenges. This article presents a diagnosis of the current situation of the Moroccan TIRM market and an analysis of the price and nonprice competitiveness of its operators. This study is based on the said diagnosis and analysis alongside a review of literature concerning firm competitiveness. From an empirical point of view, our research focuses on the results of an exploratory study conducted with TIRM companies and exporting companies which reveals that other than transport price Moroccan companies are largely uncompetitive compared to the requirements of customers and the international market.
