Abstract

Le présent article vise à comprendre comment des managers publics font usage des indicateurs de performance dans le cadre de leurs compétences effectivement mises en oeuvre. Nous nous appuyons sur un cadre conceptuel des compétences des contrôleurs de gestion issus de la littérature complété par des travaux en marketing et en gestion des ressources humaines. Nous y adjoignons la charte du pilotage des chefs d'établissements scolaires qui constitue notre terrain d'étude. Les compétences mobilisées sont adaptées en raison de la spécificité de la fonction. Notre étude met en exergue différents profils de chefs d'établissement avec un certain paradoxe dans l'usage que certains font des compétences en contrôle de gestion.
