L'Inde face à la régionalisation de l'économie mondiale

Abstract

Les études sur la " nouvelle régionalisation " de l'économie mondiale ignorent généralement le cas de l'Inde. Dans le passé, celle-ci a clairement et constamment montré sa préférence pour le développement des relations internes. Elle y est parvenue au point d'être menacée de marginalisation, sa part sur le marché mondial ayant baissé de 2 % en 1950 à 0,5 % en 1990. Ses échanges n'étaient concentrés sur aucune région particulière puisqu'aucun partenaire ne dépassait, en 1990, 25 % du total (soit 0,12 % du commerce mondial). L'Inde se voulait hors des blocs et restait à l'écart de la tendance à la régionalisation autour de la triade Japon-Europe-Etats-Unis (Boureille 1994). Enfin, l'Inde n'appartenait, et n'appartient encore actuellement, à aucune des grandes institutions régionales en construction...
