Abstract

La Turquie est le pays européen qui a le plus changé au cours des trente dernières années. Elle a connu une révolution sociale par le bas qui a intégré dans la modernité les populations que l'État kémaliste des années 1920-1950 avait laissées de côté. S'il reste encore bien des défis à relever et des problèmes à surmonter, le pays a changé d'échelle des points de vue géopolitiques et économique, passant du statut de pays périphérique en développement à celui de puissance moyenne émergente. Réunissant quelques-uns des meilleurs spécialistes de la Turquie contemporaine, cet ouvrage fondamental brosse le portrait d'un acteur devenu incontournable dans sa région et au-delà, et questionne l'expérience turque, souvent citée comme source d'inspiration pour appréhender les sociétés arabo-musulmanes.
