Abstract

Notation et Agences de Rating est un livre tiré d'un cours de master donné à l'Université Paris Dauphine. Son objectif est de présenter :- un panorama des agences de rating, une toute petite industrie très concentrée qui occupe le devant de la scène financière internationale depuis la crise de 2007/2008 (chapitres 1, 6 et 7) ;- les méthodes utilisées par ces agences pour noter les titres de créance émis par les entreprises, les États et les véhicules de titrisation (chapitres 2 et 3) ;- les critiques adressées aux agences de notation et les réponses qui peuvent leur être apportées (chapitre 4) ;- les législations votées depuis 2006 aux États-Unis et en Europe pour réguler les agences de notation (chapitre 5) ;- le rôle ambigu joué par les régulateurs et les responsables politiques qui ont intégré les notes des agences dans la réglementation financière (chapitre 5) ;- l'essor des nouvelles activités de rating que sont la notation des entreprises sous l'angle des performances environnementales, sociales et de gouvernance (ESG), la notation des acteurs de la gestion d'actif et celle du risque pays (chapitre 8).Très abordable, cet ouvrage est destiné aux étudiants qui suivent des cursus de finance et d'économie monétaire et financière, aux professionnels de la finance et - au-delà du monde de la finance - à toutes les personnes curieuses de comprendre le rôle des agences de notation et la signification des notes qu'elles attribuent.
