Abstract

La crise de la COVID a mis en lumière la fragilité des grandes institutions qui ne garantissent plus la nourriture à tous, encore moins une nourriture de qualité. Pour près de six millions de nos concitoyens, manger est devenu une angoisse quotidienne, ravivant la peur ancestrale du manque de nourriture. Cette situation a réactivé l'exigence d'une société en mesure d'assurer le droit à une alimentation choisie. Et pourquoi pas l'instauration d'une sécurité sociale de l'alimentation, comme il existe une sécurité sociale de la santé ? L'urgence est là, mais ouvrir un tel droit implique de remettre en cause la domination de l'agro-industrie sur l'actuel système alimentaire. De réinterroger, aussi, notre fonctionnement démocratique en y associant les absents à commencer les femmes, écartées des prises de décision alors que le modèle alimentaire repose d'abord sur elles. Dans Manger, la chercheuse Dominique Paturel et la journaliste Marie-Noëlle Bertrand appellent à reprendre le pouvoir sur la façon d'accéder à une alimentation durable. Elles invitent les chercheurs, syndicats paysans, associations, ONG à poursuivre leurs travaux sur le sujet, les territoires à devenir des leviers pour faire converger les débats et expérimentations en cours. Un plaidoyer utile.
