Abstract

The occupational driving of light-duty vehicles (LDVs) is become increasingly important in the messaging services and parcel drop-off by driver delivers. Whatever the vehicle driven and the work activity, the musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are the most frequently reported medical problems related to occupational driving, However, it becomes extremely difficult to extrapolate the results of the specific studies to mail delivery and messaging sector as there is paucity of literature focusing on these activities. This is why INRS undetook to analyze through an epidemiological study conducted in collaboration with La Poste group, the association between driving of LDVs for the delivery of mail/parcels and low back pain, upper limb MSDs and perceived health. Highlighting work-related modifiable risk and protective factors of MSDs could contribute to their prevention.
