Abstract

En el presente artículo analizamos las prácticas de cooperación brasileñas y chinas enfocadas en el sector agrícola en África. Mientras una gran parte de la investigación sobre estos actores emergentes analiza su participación desde un punto de vista basado en las relaciones internacionales, aquí desarrollamos un análisis fundado en la práctica, lo que involucra la observación etnográfica de proyectos e instituciones de cooperación. Primero, mostramos que, aunque su retórica insiste en la ruptura con las prácticas de la cooperación postcolonial y sus "motivaciones económicas", los programas nacionales de China y Brasil están estrechamente vinculados a intereses comerciales e industriales. Segundo, evidenciamos que, particularmente para Brasil, la profesionalización de actividades de cooperación sigue siendo un reto para la cooperación Sur-Sur.
